
You can choose between footnotes and endnotes, numbering format, custom marks and symbols, a starting number, and whether to apply the numbering to the whole document. In the footnote/endnote view, click Format Footnotes or Format Endnotes to display the Format Options dialog, where you can change the size, font, and indentation of one.
Select the options you want in the Footnote and Endnote box. Click the reference number or mark in the body of the text or click Insert > Show Footnotes(for endnotes, click Insert > Show Endnotes). Go to the Insert menu and click Footnote to open the Footnote and Endnote box. To make global changes to the footnotes on the Mac after you have entered them: Ctrl + Alt + O, E Notes >Insert Embedded EndNote Insert Pulled Endnote Text. Double-click the footnote mark to return to your place in the document, Ctrl + Alt + O Notes Insert Embedded EndNote. Click the References tab and choose Insert Footnote. (Its the seventh tab in from the left.) Click the tiny box in the bottom-right corner of the Footnotes tab, to customize your endnote. Place the cursor in the text where you want to footnote mark to appear. Click the References tab at the top of your Word display.
